I believe what Connie Meyer sees is what at least 72% of eligible American voters see. This 72% make up the rolls of eligible American voters who did not vote for Donald Trump.
We are all living "American" lives in spite of the regime that has been imposed on us by the 28%.
In November 2026, we have a chance to begin to get back on course!
This is beautifully put together — the nostalgia, for the country we were so proud of despite imperfections, and then the anguish of everything now..all the way down to starving children. I worked at USAID while putting myself through college, and was devastated to see it ransacked and the good people —of the kind I remember —scattered to the winds. You close with optimism. Yes. That is a powerful force to gather behind. Thank you for this!
I am so grateful for you writing this post! It so needed to be said, & said & said. I too am a Free Cell distractor. The news is so hard to listen to & when they show pictures I find myself screaming at the TV. No this not who I am & no this is not who we want to be as a country. I too find myself weeping & refusing to remain silent. It’s good to know we have fellow travelers of kindred spirits.
Together we can:
Nurture respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
This brings tears to my eyes. So true.
I'm crying along with you. Appreciate your hopefulness...
Thanks for this "Dispatch from the Planet Earth".
